Dornoch Juniors Benefit from Indoor Putting Facility November 29, 2021 Royal Dornoch Golf Club has helped support the use of an indoor putting green for the club’s up-and-coming junior players. The club has made a monetary donation from its Junior Fund to allow youngsters the chance to hone their skills on the putting mat. The mat was surplus to requirements for North Highland College UHI in the town and so was passed on to Royal Dornoch for the juniors’ benefit. It is used in the club’s indoor teaching area and complements the swing room and Trackman already there. Gary Dingwall, Head Teaching Professional at Royal Dornoch, assists with coaching the juniors, who are making great use of the indoor putting on these dark winter days. Alan Fleming, Curriculum Leader for Golf, North Highland College UHI, said: “We are delighted to see the indoor putting green being put to good use by Gary in delivering year-round coaching for the juniors at Royal Dornoch. “We have developed our new Centre for Golf in Dornoch and it is great to be able to continue to support and develop our relationship with the club.” Neil Hampton, General Manager at Royal Dornoch, added: “The indoor putting green is a tremendous asset to our juniors and, indeed, our club. “It’s fantastic to see young players developing their skills, especially during these winter months. They are sure to see the benefits when they are out on our links.” Photo inset (l to r): Alan Fleming; junior golfers Luke Fairns and Boris Pavlenko; Angus Mcfall, Junior Captain; and Gary Dingwall, Head Teaching Professional, Royal Dornoch GC.
