Royal Dornoch Re-Open Tee Bookings for Visitors
Royal Dornoch Golf Club has re-opened its tee sheet for future visitor bookings and plans to hold open competitions from August – subject to COVID-19 lockdown measures continuing to ease.
With Scotland in Phase 2 of its route map through and out of the coronavirus crisis, the renowned links is continuing to take steps to notify members and visitors of its operating plans.
This week saw members informed of various changes for play across both the Championship and Struie courses, as well as the re-opening of practice facilities from the end of this week.
With the five-mile travel distance in Scotland now to be relaxed from Friday 3 July and bars, restaurants and all holiday accommodation able to re-open from Wednesday 15 July, the club has also announced further action plans.
The club has now re-opened its tee sheet for visitors to book, notably taking new visitor bookings from Saturday 1 August onwards. Other key details include:
• Club competitions listed on the fixture list will resume from Wednesday 15 July
• Open events in August and onwards will resume as planned. This includes the 107th Carnegie Shield from Sunday 9 August – Saturday 15 August (the club expect to know by Monday 29 June what capacity there may be for new entries)
• Current visiting golfer bookings honoured from Wednesday 15 July
Members were also given updates this week and have received the 2021 fixture list.
Changes that took immediate effect this week:
• 3 and 4 balls are permitted from 11am each day on both the Championship and Struie courses with a maximum of 3 households in each tee time
• Members may sign in guests. They must be pre-booked and prepaid with the full name of the guest supplied at the time of booking and the guest issued with, and agreeing to, the ‘Rules for Safe Golf at Royal Dornoch May 2020’
Other changes this week and into next week:
• The opening of practice facilities from 9am on Friday 26 June (with ‘Rules for Safe Golf’ applying)
• From Monday 29 June, 3 and 4 balls will be permitted from 9am on alternate days and alternate courses, starting with the Championship Course on 29 June
• For golf on or after Wednesday 15 July, the tee sheet reverts to its standard layout i.e. Championship Course first tee time is 7am, 2 balls from then until 8.12 etc. and all tee time bookings MUST be made via the main office phone number, email or by the online system
• From Wednesday 15 to Friday 31 July all free tee times are available for members to book
• Members may now request tee times for 2021
The Pro Shop currently remains closed, apart from the services set out in the ‘Rules for Safe Golf at Royal Dornoch May 2020,’ and there remains no food and beverage service.
