Dornoch Town
Dornoch is an ancient small town with settlements dating back 4000 years.
A traditional Scottish sea-side town with a quiet location, it enjoys spectacular scenery and an award-winning sandy beach. Besides the two golf courses, Dornoch offers a wide range of shops, cafes, restaurants and hotels and is a popular resort for tourists, golfers, walkers and nature enthusiasts.
There are many attractions nearby, including the ancient Cathedral, the HistoryLinks Museum, numerous distilleries, The National Nature Reserve at Loch Fleet and spectacular Dunrobin Castle, home to the Duke of Sutherland.

The Pilgrimage
Every year, golfers from all over the world make the pilgrimage to Dornoch.
By road, Dornoch is just 2 miles off the A9 trunk road and is within an hour’s drive of Inverness. Aberdeen is a 3-hour drive away and both Edinburgh and Glasgow are within 4 hours.
The nearest rail stations are at Tain, 9 miles to the south and Golspie 11 miles north. Both have direct links to Inverness in the south and Thurso to the north.
Inverness Airport is just an hour away. It has direct domestic links to London Gatwick, London Luton, Bristol and Manchester, as well as Belfast, the Scottish Islands and Jersey.
The town has its own airfield adjacent to the Struie golf course. Dornoch Aerodrome welcomes year round visitors in aircraft of up to 5700kg.
The club also has a helipad in close proximity to the clubhouse.

Sharing our great history, Glenmorangie is delighted to be the ‘Official Whisky of the Royal Dornoch.’ In honour of this partnership, the Par-4 18th Hole on the Championship Course was renamed ‘Glenmorangie’ in 2013.
