COVID-19 – Updated Rules from Boxing Day

Following announcements made by the UK and Scottish Governments, we provide an update for golf at Royal Dornoch over the coming weeks.

Due to the continued challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the whole of Scotland will be in ‘lockdown’ Level 4 from Boxing Day, Saturday 26 December – effective for three weeks.

Therefore, we have had to make changes to the rules for the use of the clubhouse and for playing golf over our links.

The basics are that while we are still able to play golf, the clubhouse will be closed. There will be staff in the Pro Shop to answer the phone, to take tee time bookings and to check you in for your tee times and competitions but you will not be able to enter the shop – you must speak to them from the door.

Please take some time to read all the documents linked below so you are aware of what facilities are available and how to make use of them.

Given these rule changes come into effect from Boxing Day, and as both the clubhouse and courses are closed on Christmas Day, then Christmas Eve will be the last day the clubhouse will be open.

As always, we are looking for you to comply with these rules as well as all the lockdown restrictions that will be in place, so that we can all continue to enjoy golf in the safest possible manner.

We all feel the frustrations as these measures intensify and that many of you will not be able to visit and play for a while yet.

We look forward to the days when we can enjoy each other’s company on and off the courses once again. It will be a very different Christmas and New Year for us all. From us all at Royal Dornoch, we wish you and your families a safe and enjoyable festive period and we look forward to a brighter 2021.
