TOP FIVE SPOT IN LATEST RANKINGS

ROYAL Dornoch continues to rank among the world’s favourite golf courses.

The biannual World Top 100 list compiled by Golf World/Today’s Golfer has been unveiled in the countdown to Christmas.

Members will be delighted to see Royal Dornoch edge up four places to number five in the prestigious list, which always provides a talking point for golfers around the world.

The renowned Championship Course, which will host the Scottish Amateur Championship and the Vagliano and Junior Vagliano Trophies next season, edged up four rungs on the ladder.

St Andrews tops the list, followed by Royal County Down, Royal Melbourne West and Turnberry (Ailsa), with Muirfield, Cape Wickham, Pacific Dunes, Royal Portrush and Kingston Heath making up the top 10.

Royal Dornoch hosted The R&A Women’s and Men’s Senior Amateur Championships over the summer, with the reputation of the Struie sister course continuing to blossom.

Other Golf Highland courses featuring are Castle Stuart (33 and Skibo Castle (41).

Scotland boasts 19 courses on the list, which focuses on clubs which have tee times – sometimes only a limited number – available to the public.

The Championship and Struie tee-sheets are open for 2023 bookings, with visitors from home and abroad intent on making the trip to savour the Dornoch experience.
