ROYAL DORNOCH COURSES AMONG SCOTLAND’S FINEST 

ROYAL Dornoch features at the top end of every list of the world’s must-play links courses.  

No surprise then to see it maintaining top 10 status in National Club Golfer’s Top 100s Scotland 2023. 

The Old Course at the Home of Golf tops the list, with Royal Dornoch Championship joining Trump Turnberry (Ailsa), Muirfield and North Berwick in the magazine panel’s latest top five. 

Other courses in the top 10 are Kingsbarns, Carnoustie (Championship), Skibo Castle, Cruden Bay (Championship) and Castle Stuart. 

Commenting on Royal Dornoch, the magazine noted: “As the world’s most northerly championship links course golf and history are inseparable. Built on land perfectly suited to the purpose, Dornoch is simply glorious.” 

Neil Hampton, general manager at Royal Dornoch, is confident the changes being made to the 8th hole over the winter will further enhance the Championship Course’s reputation, coming hard on the heels of improvements made to the 7th hole. 

“It is always nice to feature in polls of this nature. They are a talking point, and everyone has their own favourites,” he said. 

“Our members appreciate they are lucky to enjoy two courses – The Championship and The Struie – which feature among the best Scotland has to offer.
