NEW LOOK WEBSITE UP AND RUNNING
ROYAL Dornoch Golf Club has unveiled an exciting new website.
Counting down to the opening of our new £13.9 million clubhouse and the milestone 150th anniversary in 2027, we turned to Yorkshire-based agency 18Players to create the new platform.
General manager Neil Hampton is delighted with the result of the collaboration.
“These are exciting times for members and our many visitors,” he said.
“The new website offers a more contemporary look and has been designed to be user friendly for our membership at home and abroad, in addition to golfers planning a visit and the growing number of browsers attracted by our status as one of the world’s finest links.
“We wanted an easy-on-the-eye platform which reflects the status the club enjoys in world golf.
“We liaised closely with Mike Robertson and the team at 18Players to ensure it ticked all the boxes going forward.”
Account manager Mike said: “It has been an absolute pleasure to work with such an historic club as Royal Dornoch.
“We have really helped showcase the magnificent courses and the illustrious history of the club in a new way. We are delighted that members and visitors alike will enjoy the new site.”
In addition to an array of images and videos capturing the majesty of the renowned Championship Course and the quality of the Struie
Course on the lower links, the website has been designed to profile the latest club branded products in the Pro Shop, caddie and club hire information, the legendary clubhouse hospitality experience, the rich history of a club established in 1877 and round-the-clock webcams, which were a popular feature on the old website.
“The website has been designed to be simple to navigate on the phone, desktop or tablet. It can also be easily managed and updated by staff and will continue to evolve,” said Neil.
“One of our webcams, going live later this month, will be capturing progress on our eagerly awaited new clubhouse, which is on track to open in 2025.
“Given the history of golf in Dornoch, where it has been played since the 17th Century and perhaps even earlier, our archives team has done a fine job highlighting key milestones for a timeline tracking the development of the golf club, with many of the evocative images kindly shared by the local Historylinks Museum.
“As a golf club with deep roots in the local community, the website also profiles all manner of businesses in and around Dornoch which may be of interest to our many visitors.”
