SOCIAL MEDIA MILESTONE FOR ROYAL DORNOCH
ROYAL Dornoch Golf Club has amassed more than 20,000 followers on “X.”
The milestone was passed in the wake of the Championship Course being acclaimed as number two in the world by US based Golf Digest.
The golf club took to Twitter, as it was then known, back in 2011 and it has built-up a loyal, and growing, following over the years.
General manager Neil Hampton is thrilled to break through the 20,000 mark, which compares favourably with celebrated courses around the country, many of which are on the Open Championship rota.
“It is quite a milestone,” said Neil.
“We have followers based around the world. Many are members, others have enjoyed their visit to Royal Dornoch, while many more appear to have us on their bucket list and we look forward to welcoming them to the Highlands.“In addition to keeping golfers posted on our latest news – such as updates on work on our new clubhouse project – it’s clear that the stunning and regularly updated, seasonal photographs of the Championship Course are hugely popular with an international audience.
“I’m told that the club has posted 6800 times since the very first Tweet and the recent news that we have been elevated to world number two status in the Golf Digest rankings has already prompted nearly 60,000 impressions.
“In addition to our presence on “X” the club also reaches out on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.”
