IN THE MIX FOR ANOTHER TOP AWARD

ROYAL Dornoch Golf Club has been shortlisted for another prestigious accolade.

Our Championship Course has been unveiled as a “Scotland: Course of the Year” finalist in The Golf Course Awards 2024.

The ceremony takes place at Shangri-La, The Shard in London on December 5.

It will be hosted by Sky Sports presenter and Golf Course Awards ambassador Nick Dougherty.

Club general manager Neil Hampton has welcomed the latest recognition coming the way of Royal Dornoch.

It follows hard on the heels of an award as the “UK Junior Club of the Year.”

“It is always nice to be in the mix when awards are being handed out,” he said.

“It is encouraging to build on the positive responses we have enjoyed after the sympathetic changes carried out in recent years to holes seven and eight.”

The Golf Course Awards “provide a progressive evaluation of greatness that recognises innovation, inclusivity and sustainability, as well as design, condition and aesthetics.”

The judging panel for The Golf Course Awards includes well-known figures including Andrew Cotter, Dan Walker, Inci Mehmet, David Jones (@ukgolfguy) and various respected industry figures.

The finalists for “Scotland: Course of the Year” also include The Championship Course at Carnoustie, The Old Course, The Machrie and Dumbarnie Links.
