DORNOCH FIRTH PROJECT MAKING MORE WAVES 

ROYAL Dornoch’s commitment to regenerating the salt marshes by the StruieCourse continues to attract national attention. 

The club has been shortlisted in the 2025 Scottish Golf Awards. 

We have been nominated for the Impact and Innovation Award sponsored by Citation, along with Carnoustie Golf Links and Fife Golf Trust – echoing the shortlist for the Best Sustainability Project in the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards which was unveiled earlier this week. 

An independent panel of judges drawn from a wide cross section of the golf industry had their say in six of the 11 awards which will be presented at an event being held at Glasgow’s voco Central Hotel on March 14, with support from the Limitless DMC2/21 Group. 

The ongoing salt marshes project aimed at mitigating coastal erosion has been hailed as “pioneering,” involving a productive partnership with various agencies, environmentalists and Dornoch Academy.  

Local youngsters have been bringing on plants in a polytunnel donated to the school by the golf club and they will team-up again with our greenkeepers in the spring to add to the thousands already bedded in.
