CHECK OUT THE LATEST EDITION OF “DORNOCH DAYS”
THE spring edition of Royal Dornoch’s popular online magazine “Dornoch Days” features a wide range of articles aimed at past and potential visitors to the Highlands, along with our members at home and abroad.
With progress continuing apace on our eagerly awaited new clubhouse, general manager Neil Hampton looks towards the next phase of the club’s development.
These are exciting times for the club, with the 150th anniversary on the horizon, along with hosting the 2028 Curtis Cup.
Neil assesses the potential for development following the acquisition of 50 acres of land adjacent to the Struie Course and highlights the brief nine respected golf course architects have been given as the club looks to the future.
“Dornoch Days” has also spoken to key figures at contrasting courses which are part of the “Golf Highland” network, a group encouraging visiting golfers to linger and sample the diverse courses the region has in abundance.
Paul Mills, general manager at Nairn Golf Club, Ali Morrison, greenkeeper at nine-hole Durness on the north-west coast, and past Royal Dornoch captain Willie MacKay map out the history – and success being enjoyed by – an organisation which has brought together more than 30 clubs from across the Highlands.
Other features in the latest edition of “Dornoch Days” touch on the looming 10th anniversary of the Dornoch Whisky Festival and the spate of holes-in-one which ushered in the new season at Royal Dornoch.
